Seabase Bahamas High Adventure 2027 - Honcho Needed

Posted on Dec 14 2025 - 10:45pm

If you scout will be entering 9th grade in the Fall of 2027 (that's right, 18 months from now), please consider honcho'ing Seabase in the Bahamas. The boys and adults spend a week on large catamaran, cruising the Caribbean and enjoying beach life scout style.

Sign Up NOW for Camp Daniel Boone Merit Badge Camp

Posted on Dec 14 2025 - 10:41pm
Hello T5 Parents,

Preparations are underway for this coming summer's Merit Badge trip to Camp Daniel Boone. T5 MB Camp is June 28th to July 4th, with travel times still TBD (might adjust the days slightly). MB camp is great for middle school aged scouts, and parents are absolutely able to attend if desired. Check out https://www.campdanielboone.org/ for more details on the camp itself.

We have some important coming dates to consider.
  • Please sign up via T5 website ASAP: https://austin5.mytroop.us/node/2872
  • The FIRST deposit is due Sunday January 11th.  $535 per Scout, $315 per Adult. This is for the camp and whitewater rafting. Make payments to me on Venmo at @Lee-Rehwinkel
  • The SECOND deposit is due Sunday March 15th.  This will be for travel arrangements (Flights plus Van/Bus Charter). The exact amount will be determined a few weeks ahead of this time.  If you plan to travel separately from the group, I will need to know by this date.
You should budget up to $1500 for everything.  We will try to find the most affordable travel arrangements through either Asheville, Greenville, or Charlotte airports. This includes the possibility of traveling on Saturday for an early check-in at camp Saturday June 27th.  If we fly Sunday June 28th, we would need to leave on a 5:40am flight to get to the camp on time.  Much of this depends on the final headcount.

As a reminder, the stats are something like your scout is 80% more likely to make Eagle if they attend at least one MB camp. This is a GREAT experience for middle school aged scouts, but all are welcome. Honchos are Lee Rehwinkle and Michael Baird. Most scouts can offset part of the MB camp cost by selling mulch in our fundraiser, which starts in January. Check the video below for a short preview.

T5 (Troop) Dues
