Welcome back to another great Scouting year!

I hope everyone had an outstanding summer, whether you were at Camp Daniel Boone, Philmont, or enjoying other adventures. I can't wait to hear all the stories.

As we prepare for the fall semester, it's time to assemble our youth leadership team and kick off our first Patrol Leaders' Council (PLC). I received a few leadership requests last spring, but I know there are many more First Class and higher Scouts who may be looking to complete a Position of Responsibility(POR) this semester as they work toward Star, Life, or Eagle.

To help everyone succeed, we ask leaders to commit to:

Attending at least 75% of our Tuesday troop meetings
Participating in all but one of our campouts during the semester
Giving their position the time and effort needed to help the troop have a successful program

We also strongly encourage Scouts to alternate semesters serving in leadership once they reach First Class. This gives more Scouts the opportunity to lead while helping everyone maintain a healthy balance between leading and simply enjoying the program.

This will be an extended meeting, and pizza will be provided. During the meeting, we'll assign leadership positions, plan our fall program, and begin preparing an exciting semester for the entire troop.

I'm looking forward to working with all of you and seeing what this leadership team can accomplish!

We are hoping to offer the Personal Management Merit Badge in-house this Fall, as many Scouts have had experienced difficulty in registering for the Personal Management MB course offered through A+ Credit Union. Lisa Dallmer has graciously offered to teach the course, but for purposes of two-deep leadership, oversight and sharing the workload, she will need an assistant.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James "Jimmy" Barnard IV, the oldest son of our former Scoutmaster Jimmy Barnard. The memorial service will be held on May 14 at 2:30, details below. All troop members are invited and requested to attend in full uniform.
