To ensure the highest standards of safety for our youth, Scouting America has introduced the new Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT), which replaces the previous Youth Protection Training (YPT). I am calling on all units to ensure their adult leadership is fully up to date. It is critical to understand that even if your current YPT certificate shows an expiration date after May 31, 2026, it will be updated to expire on that date. All registered adult leaders must complete the new SYT to remain compliant.
